A train in Alaska
Michael was on a train in Alaska when the guide pointed out a stretch of coastline that behaves like quicksand. At almost the same moment, he was texting a client who was having a really difficult stretch.
The client kept working harder. Longer nights, weekends, more of the same. And it was almost like he was moving backwards.

That's the Quicksand Effect. Capable, successful people start to feel like they're drowning, and most of the time they don't see they're sinking until they're burnt out, missing their numbers, or at risk of losing the job. The way out isn't more effort. It's changing how you think, and how you move.
